Dmitry Gordon Responded to Lukashenka: Do You Hear the Clock Ticking?

  • 10.08.2021, 9:10

Ukrainian journalist "smashed" the dictator.

Dmitry Gordon, a well-known Ukrainian journalist and founder of the online publication Gordon, recorded a video response to Lukashenka, who insulted the journalist the day before:

When after the electoral defeat, you did wrong things to your people; I was outraged. It was impossible to watch this mockery!

I did not expect you could stand for a year. I thought you would be swept away, torn down.

I hope you won't be the ruler of Belarus for long. I hope that the moment will come when wonderful Belarusian people will celebrate the liberation from you, from your despotism. You are a real despot, a robber in the purest form because in the twenty-first century a leader of the state cannot do that to his people.

I listened to your speech. Of course, I liked the fact that you remembered me and called me a scoundrel. To hear such a word from the man who is illegitimate in every way, who is under sanctions of leading western countries and who is hated by his people is an honor.

You know, I remember how we said goodbye. In the end, you gave me wonderful Belarusian zubrovka, vodka, sweets. I ate the sweets. I'll be honest with you. I drank the zubrovka and vodka, but I still have the President's Belarusian Balm presented by you. Since your words that I'm a scoundrel were like a balm to my soul, I'll drink the Belarusian Balm. I would like to toast to the wonderful people of brotherly Belarus becoming truly free as soon as possible so that the people who will love their people could come to power. Belorussians, cheers!

And final words. Of course, it is no coincidence that I am speaking to you wearing this [white-and-red] t-shirt. Well, to sweeten my life after a glass of Belorussian Balm, I will eat a wonderful marshmallow Gordon, which I produce. And, of course, the colours of the packaging of this marshmallow are also symbolic.

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Do you hear a clock ticking? It's yours.
