Major General of the Russian army Vitaly Gerasimov has been liquidated in the environs of Kharkiv. This was announced on March 7 by the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Facebook, reports gordonua.com.

“Sequential losses among the top-ranking commanders of the occupying country’s army. Vitaly Gerasimov, the Russian military leader, Major General, Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the 41st Army of the Central Military District of Russia, was liquidated during the fighting near Kharkiv.

A number of senior officers of the Russian army were also killed and wounded, the Defense Intelligence noted.

Vitaly Gerasimov took part in the second Chechen war and the Russian military operation in Syria. He received a medal "For the Return of Crimea".

The website "Myrotvorets" states that Gerasimov is "a Russian war criminal, a participant of the direct military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, involved in the genocide of the Ukrainian people by conducting military operations against civilians."
