“There Is Real Corruption With School Uniforms Topic”

What do Belarusians think about changes in the learning process?
“We are working to introduce uniform school clothes for a particular institution for the upcoming academic year from the 1st of September. We will consider the possibility of introducing compulsory school uniforms from 2023,” Minister of Education of Belarus Andrei Ivanets said recently. EX-PRESS.BY asked readers how they feel about the return of school uniforms.
Alena:
— My children go to school in Warsaw. They have an interesting educational process here, children are happy and have fun at school. We do not pay anything - only once a year for "wishlist": birthdays and excursions for children. The amount of 200 zlotys (about $46 - ed.) for the whole year. And no curtains, repairs, fees for gifts to the school or teacher. For example, on International Children's Day, the eldest son went to a luxurious entertainment center with his class, and the younger son went to the bakery academy, where the children themselves baked pizza, bread and cakes.
We like how everything is arranged here and, of course, it's very cool - the absence of a school uniform. Children attend classes in comfortable clothes, and the only requirement is a change of shoes. This is a simple public school, and I consider such a school to be exemplary.
Kanstantsin:
— School uniforms are a preparation for restrictions and lack of freedom, the same way people in Belarus were forced all their lives. I am personally against the uniform. I think there may be rules, a dress code, but not an obligation.
Volha:
— I did not like the school uniform at my age: a terrible brown dress, sewn-on collars, aprons. It seemed to be usable, but in fact, it took away any freedom. Girls shortened the dress to super short, and it was vulgar, but it was at least some freedom to show.
There is real corruption with the school uniforms topic: they are forcing us to buy clothes from a certain factory, moreover, orgainized in schools. You can buy this cheaper than at school on the website of the Brest manufacturer.
Ksenia:
— Now the Soviet school uniform for graduation parties is “in trend”, and some do business on it. Renting a dress costs money, and if there are several of them, then you can earn some money. Where does this stupid fashion come from? From elder-teachers yearning for the Soviet times. At least in my daughter's class, it was the cool one who dreamed of dressing everyone in uniform, but it broke off. The girls refused.
Uladzimir:
— Elegant school uniforms are not bad, I think. But in our country, everything is done by stupid ideologists, so I am against it. They forced us to buy a sleeveless jacket by Svitanak for classes, and this is just the bottom. I don't want this uniform for my kids.
In total, 392 people took part in the survey on compulsory school uniforms: 65% of them were in favour of freeform; 26% of respondents are quite satisfied with the actual business style of clothing for schoolchildren; 5% want to return the compulsory school uniform. Another 4% admitted that they do not care.
