Luminița Odobescu harshly criticized the actions of the occupiers in the waters of the Danube.

Romanian Minister for Foreign Affairs Luminița Odobescu accused Russia of committing a war crime against Ukraine.

This is exactly what we can call Russian attacks on the important infrastructure of Ukraine, in particular on southern ports, the official said before a meeting of the foreign ministers of the European Union in Kyiv.

In this context, Odobescu mentioned the Ukrainian ports at the mouth of the Danube, which are geographically close to Romania.

“Russian attacks against civilian infrastructure, including ports on the Danube, very close to the Romanian border, are war crimes...”, European Pravda quotes the minister.

According to the head of the Romanian Foreign Ministry, Russia is trying to disrupt civil navigation of shipping in the Black Sea at the global level, causing damage to the Ukrainian economy and food security of the world.

She added that she came to Kyiv to provide Ukraine with a strong signal of support from Romania. Odobescu hopes that Ukrainians will feel this following the results of today's negotiations between European ministers.

Romania will continue to support the transit capacity of Ukrainian grain and expects exports to increase from 2 to 3-4 million tons by the end of the year, Odobescu said. Now up to 25 million tons of Ukrainian products have been transported through these “roads of solidarity” in Romania, she added.

As Charter97.org previously reported, Romania accused Russia of violating its airspace. The remains of a drone that Russia used to shell Ukrainian ports on the Danube were found on the territory of the country.
