Media: Russian Military Pilot Surrendered At US Embassy

The man allegedly went on vacation to the UAE, and there he contacted American diplomats.
A Russian Guard pilot escaped from Russia. Having gone on vacation with his family to the UAE, he surrendered to representatives of the American embassy on the spot. UNIAN reports this with reference to the “Spy Dossier” Telegram channel.
A serviceman of the Russian National Guard aviation squadron, senior lieutenant named Gavrichenko with the call sign “Le Havre”, received the required leave at the end of September and went on vacation to Dubai. There he came to the US Embassy and stated that he was ready to cooperate, since he did not want to fight against Ukraine.
According to the mentioned Telegram channel, his fellow cadet Anton Vasilyev, who served in the 610th center for combat use and retraining of flight personnel in the city of Ivanovo, could persuade the pilot to escape. At the very beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Vasilyev left Russia and moved to Los Angeles. Now he is allegedly organizing training camps for the Ukrainian army and helping American intelligence.
At the moment, the FSB is finding out the circumstances of Gavrichenko’s escape through the UAE: his colleagues are being interrogated and their houses are being searched. The FSB believes that it was Anton Vasilyev who convinced Gavrichenko of the need to escape.
Military pilots flee Russia
According to the mentioned public “Spy Dossier”, Gavrichenko and Vasilyev are far from the only Russian pilots who escaped from Putin’s “anti-fascism”. In particular, the public mentions the pilot of the 15th Army Aviation Brigade, Lieutenant Dmitry Mishov, who fled to Lithuania.
Also widely known was the episode with the pilot of the 319th separate helicopter regiment, Captain Maksim Kuzminov, who stole a Mi-8AMTSh helicopter, along with the crew, and, in agreement with the Defence Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian MoD, landed it on the territory of Ukraine controlled by Kyiv. For this he received a reward of $500,000.
