Russia Admits Runaway Of Pilot Who Hijacked Mi-8

Russian propagandists have made up a story about the pilot Maksim Kuzminov, who in August hijacked an Mi-8 helicopter to Ukraine. It was allegedly ordered to eliminate the pilot, unian.net wrote.

The piece was broadcast on the Russian propaganda Russia 1 TV channel. In the video, correspondent Sergey Zenin was reporting that allegedly special forces of the Russian Defence Ministry's GRU were ordered to eliminate Kuzminov. At the same time, four unknown men dressed in uniform were seen in the footage. One of the men said that the pilot would be found and punished "to the full extent of the law of our state for betrayal," while the second added that he "will not live to see the trial."

In addition, the propagandist said that Kuzminov had "forgotten the history of his country, his people, abused the memory of his ancestors, spit on the memory of his grandfather, an honoured pilot of the Soviet Union" and called him a "traitor to the Motherland", a "scavenger" and a "turncoat".
