Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina refused to shake hands with Belarusian tennis player Aliaksandra Sasnovich after losing the first round of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Madrid, Spain. This moment was caught on video of the match.

It should be noted that after the match the tennis players traditionally meet near the net where they shake hands. Elina Svitolina only came up to the referee, ignoring Sasnovich, and then left the court.

Earlier, Svitolina criticised the WTA and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for refusing to disqualify the Russians and Belarusians from international competitions.
