A 15-year-old student armed with a knife wounded four people at a school in the Krasny Desant farm in the Rostov region. The head of the region, Vasily Golubev, said.

"The teenager injured four adults - three employees and a relative of one of the students - while trying to enter the school. The attacker is being held by eyewitnesses," Golubev said. He added that the student "suffers from a mental disorder".

Baza said the student came to school wearing a mask. The janitor did not like it. When asked to remove the mask, the teenager began to threaten. He then pulled out a knife and attacked the janitor, the teacher and the grandfather of the first grader. The janitor tried to press the panic button, but it did not work. Parents of other children in the school grabbed the attacker as he tried to run outside. As he did so, he shouted that he saw "Ukrainians and Poles" attacking him.

Baza reports that the suspect suffered an epileptic seizure after the incident. According to 161.ru, the student's medical record has a note "on slight schizophrenic deviations". According to other students, the student was considered "weird" and unsociable, but did not have conflicts with his peers. The teenager did not get on with his social studies teacher. She allegedly "did not understand" him and gave him poor grades. The student lives with his grandmother, his parents are divorced. He saw his father the day before. The man is a military man and has been mobilised for the war in Ukraine in autumn 2022. He was recently wounded and came home on leave.
