NATO Sends Reconnaissance Planes To Lithuania

NATO already deployed several such aircraft in Romania at the beginning of the year.

NATO is sending AWACS radar reconnaissance aircraft to Lithuania to monitor the Russian Federation, says Acting NATO Spokesperson Dylan White.

“Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine has increased our attention to the security situation in the Baltic Sea region,” a bloc spokesman said, adding that AWACS systems can detect aircraft and missiles at a distance of hundreds of kilometers.

Note that at the beginning of the year, NATO already deployed several such aircraft in Romania.
