The emergency occurred on a lake in the Malaryta district.
A man and his family were on vacation on a lake in the Malaryta district when he was stung by an insect. Despite resuscitation efforts, the man could not be saved. Experts found that he died of anaphylactic shock. But what kind of insect stung him could not be determined, reports the State Committee for Forensic Expertise.
A resident of Vysokaye, Kamianets district, and his family were vacationing on Lake Lukava in the Malaryta district. When the family was setting up tents, the man felt that something had stung him. He called his wife, so she examined the bite site and removed the sting.
But after a while the man became ill. An ambulance was called for him. When the doctors arrived, it was already too late: despite resuscitation measures, they could not save the man.
The wife of the deceased said that last year her husband was stung by an insect and suffered an allergic reaction. He has been taking an antihistamine since then, but missed his pill that day.
“During a forensic medical examination, an expert from the Department of the State Committee of Forensic Expertise in the Brest Region established that the man’s death was caused by anaphylactic shock as a result of a stinging insect bite. This bite has a direct causal connection with the death that occurred,” experts said.
The locals resting on the lake said that hornets were found in this area.
