He was in charge of the "Centre" group of troops, which was trying to advance on Kyiv.
The son of Russian military commander Alexander Lapin may have been liquidated in the war in Ukraine.
The corresponding message appeared in the Russian group of "Novosti Volgograd".
"Tragic news came from the front. Our fellow countryman Denis Lapin heroically died in the zone of special military operation," stated the post.
It is indicated that on May 3 the command post, where Lapin was in, was struck from the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system.
"Denis was born in the city of Volgograd on January 23, 1986. In 2019 he graduated from the General Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," added "Novosti Volgograd".
This was also reported by Anatoly Shtefan "Stirlitz", an officer of the Armed forces of Ukraine, on his Telegram-channel. Anatoly Shtefan separately added that the deceased fighter of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation may be the son of Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, but this information requires further clarification.
Alexander Lapin was in charge of the "Centre" grouping of Russian troops, which tried to seize the territories of Chernihiv, Sumy and Kyiv regions.
In the summer it became known that Lapin awarded the Zhukov medal to his own son Denis, who commanded the offensive on Sumy and Chernihiv.
