Washington called Tehran's nuclear programme a threat to the US.
The US has announced new sanctions against individuals linked to Iran's nuclear programme.
‘The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control has identified five entities and one individual in Iran for providing support to key institutions that manage and control Iran's nuclear programme,’ the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement.
It is noted that the listed entities are involved in purchasing and producing important technologies for Iran's nuclear programme.
According to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the Iranian regime's reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons remains a serious threat to the United States, regional stability and global security. ‘Treasury will continue to use available tools and authorities to thwart Iran's attempts to develop its nuclear programme and pursue broader destabilising actions,’ Bessent said.
