Mark Rutte visited Odesa and assured Kyiv of unwavering support.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday, April 15, with an unannounced visit.
As Rutte himself reported, he visited the city of Odesa together with Zelensky.
“The Ukrainian people have been through a lot, not least the Russian attack on Sumy on Palm Sunday. NATO’s support is unwavering. We will continue to help Ukraine defend itself today and deter future aggression, ensuring a just and lasting peace,” Rutte wrote on Twitter.
At the same time, Zelensky showed a video in which he and the NATO Secretary General visit a hospital where Ukrainian defenders are recovering from injuries.
There they talked to the military and awarded them.
“He also presented combat doctors with awards. They not only help our soldiers in the hospital every day, but also saved lives under shelling in the Kherson, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv regions,” Zelensky wrote.
Rutte also noted Ukrainian doctors and their contribution to saving lives.
“You devote your time, your days, weeks, and years to this. And we see it. This is extremely important. And this is the difference between Ukraine and Russia. This is the difference between dictatorship and democracy,” Rutte emphasized.
