The restriction was introduced by the Ministry of Defence of the country.
Since 17 April, a decree of the Ministry of Defence prohibiting photography and videotaping of critical infrastructure facilities has come into force in Poland, ‘Polskie Radio’ reports.
‘It is not only about military facilities,’ explained General Wieslaw Kukula, Chief of General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces.
‘It is difficult to imagine that, for example, a gas port and various types of facilities, including not so much military facilities, but facilities critical to the functioning of the state, would not be considered such infrastructure. I don't think such a ban would apply to the Presidential Palace. We are talking about deliberate filming of military units‘ facilities, often including close-up shots of anti-drone systems that we install in units,’ said the head of the General Staff.
The ban applies in particular to bridges, viaducts and tunnels along defence roads, military seaports, communications infrastructure, the National Bank of Poland and the Bank of National Economy. All objects included in the ban list will be labelled with appropriate signs.
General Kukula also added that from tomorrow, drivers entering the territory of military units will have to switch off their video recorders.
