Centre For Countering Disinformation: Kremlin's Easter Special Operation Fails

Ukraine has exposed Russia's true intentions.
The head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, is convinced that Russia's attempt to accuse Ukraine of disrupting the so-called ‘Easter truce’ announced by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on Saturday, April 19, has completely failed.
‘The Russians’ information operation, which aimed to accuse Ukraine of disrupting the ‘ceasefire’, has failed, including in the Western information field. Russia did not adhere to the ceasefire it itself declared, and it used the situation to prepare for possible new assaults in some places, and continued fighting in key areas,’ his Telegram message said.
Kovalenko added that the ‘Easter truce’ could be extended for 30 days if Russia really wanted to end the war.
‘That's what will become clear soon, whether Russia is really aiming to end the war. So far it is not clear,’ he wrote.
The head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation emphasised that the Russian dictator's attempts to convince Western countries of the Kremlin's desire to stop the war had failed.
‘I will note once again, Putin's attempt to make himself look like the main peacemaker has failed in the information field. This is important,’ he added.
Earlier, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ordered a halt to all hostilities from 18:00 on 19 April to 00:00 on 21 April.
On 20 April, the AFU General Staff said that despite the ‘Easter truce’ announced by Putin, there had been 45 military clashes at the front since the beginning of the day as of 16:00.
