Poltava Under Massive Attack: Fires Raging Because Of It

This night Poltava was subjected to a massive air attack by Russian occupiers, and the targets of enemy drones were purely civilian infrastructure. Three people were injured as a result of the attack.

This was reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations.

The Emergency Service said that on the night from 22 to 23 April, ‘exclusively civilian infrastructure of the city’ was under attack with the use of UAVs.

‘Residential houses, businesses, warehouses, garages were damaged,’ the State Emergency Service reported.

The Service informed that three people were injured in Poltava as a result of the enemy air attack.

‘One of the drones fell near a multi-storey building - windows were broken out, the facade was damaged. Fires broke out: firefighters are fighting with the flame', said the Emergency workers.

Also, the State Emergency Service noted that the elimination of the consequences of the enemy drone strikes continues in the city.

‘Psychologists of the State Emergency Service are working at the site, providing assistance to the affected residents,’ added the Service.

Drone Strikes In Poltava

Yesterday, late in the evening, 22 April, a series of explosions were heard in Poltava amid an enemy drone attack. Besides, local public pages wrote that there were problems with light in parts of Poltava afterwards.

As the head of the Regional Military Administration said later, there were reports of hits at enterprises and open areas near civilian facilities in Podolsk and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Poltava.

In addition, the official said that a significant number of enemy air targets were shot down in Poltava region thanks to the work of air defence forces and means, and there were also ‘fly-ins’ near Poltava - in particular, hits at civilian infrastructure and enterprises were recorded.
