Zelensky Returns Immediately From South Africa To Ukraine

Due to massive Russian Federation attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has partially cancelled his visit to South Africa because of the massive attack of the Russian Federation. The head of state immediately returns to Ukraine.

The President commented on the Russian strike on Ukraine, reminding that Ukraine agreed to a complete ceasefire 44 days ago. But Russia continues to kill people and avoid hard pressure and responsibility for this.
Zelensky noted that there is a lot of destruction as a result of the Russian attack, rescue operations are ongoing. In total more than 80 people are wounded in Ukraine because of shelling. In Kyiv, nine people were killed.
‘There was a report of the military command. Instructed the Minister of Defence of Ukraine to immediately contact partners regarding our requests to strengthen air defence,’ said the Ukrainian head of state.
Zelensky added that he would inform South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who chairs the G20, about the situation and the need to step up global diplomatic efforts. The Ukrainian president emphasised that the cessation of strikes is needed immediately and unconditionally. Zelensky also counts on South Africa's help in humanitarian issues - the return of Ukrainian children captured and kidnapped by Russia.
‘I cancel part of the programme of this visit and after the meeting with the President of South Africa I will immediately return to Ukraine,’ the President said.
According to Zelensky, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine will hold all necessary meetings in South Africa to fully inform the political and public leaders of the country about the situation.

According to the head of state, he had scheduled meetings with the President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa, representatives of political, public and student communities in Africa.
Russian Federation Attacked Ukraine Massively
On the night of 24 April, Russian occupants launched a new massive strike against Ukraine. The Russians fired 70 missiles of various types, including ballistic missiles, and 145 drones. Air defence forces destroyed 48 missiles and 64 drones. Another 68 enemy imitation drones were locationally lost.
The main direction of the enemy's strike was Kyiv - the capital of Ukraine was attacked by missiles and drones. The consequences of the attack were recorded in five districts of the city. A residential building was partially destroyed in Svyatoshinsky district. There continues the removal of rubble, under which there may be people.
