The upcoming weeks are expected to be decisive.

In the next 8-10 days, the international community must put even more pressure on Russia, said French President Emmanuel Macron.

Earlier, Macron stated that Ukraine’s allies must act united in the matter of ending the war, but at the same time, “part of the equation still depends on Moscow.”

According to Paris Match, in the next 8-10 days, the West intends to intensify pressure on Russia. The main goal is to stop the war in Ukraine. These upcoming weeks, according to Macron, should be decisive.

According to the French president, he managed to convince Washington to increase pressure on Moscow, including tightening sanctions. Macron emphasized: "We are closer to a ceasefire than ever before."

He also mentioned that the meeting between Trump and Zelensky in Rome helped increase pressure on Moscow. On April 6, Macron urged Putin to stop the war in Ukraine, and on April 26, he stated that the coming days should demonstrate the Russian leader's willingness to sit at the negotiating table.
