Trump Very Worried About Tools To Allow Him To Put Pressure On Russia

The White House head's plans have changed significantly.
Donald Trump's plans for a ceasefire in Ukraine have changed significantly in recent months. He stated that it was possible to end the war in 24 hours, later in 100 days, but reaching a ceasefire even before 20 April, Easter, already seems impossible.
However, according to the opinion of PhD, international expert Andrei Gorodnitsky, which he shared with Channel 24, the full spectrum of the result of the Trump administration's peacemaking efforts will be evident after a certain period of time. CNN journalists also noted that Trump's attempts to organise a truce in the air and at sea have been failed, but the White House has not stopped making concessions to Russia, in particular, temporarily lifting sanctions against Kirill Dmitriev.
Putin Wants As Many Preferences As Possible
The international expert noted that Ukrainians see the ‘results’ of peace talks every day when missiles and drones fly in and children and adults are killed.
‘Unfortunately, nothing is changing so far in terms of the intensity of hostilities,’ he noted.
At the same time, the international expert said, we may soon find out whether the US will succeed in pushing Putin to certain psychological deadlines, up to which he is allowed to do whatever he wants, but after which he must stop.
‘The Russians are taking advantage of this and bombing territory in Ukraine. Trump, of course, doesn't like it, he has the responsibility on his shoulders for the ceasefire and it's not happening. However, he can't do anything about it and put pressure on Putin,’ he explained.
Trump is very worried about this because he realises that a quick ceasefire will be very difficult and he will likely have to play the long game.
At the same time, in this period, Putin wants to get as many preferences as possible in the future, such as the lifting of sanctions. However, according to the PhD, the circumstances are so complicated that even a ceasefire does not guarantee Russia a comfortable life.
The situation in the markets due to Trump's new customs policy affects international politics as well. And for Ukraine, it even brings benefits.
‘A big drop in oil prices, when they approach its production cost, means that the Russians will be forced to sell it at a minus to themselves,’ emphasised Andrei Gorodnitsky.
Now, he added, what is happening is favourable for Ukraine, because Russia will lose hundreds of billions of dollars. And this is a very weighty pressure on it.
