Ukraine Destroys Kh-22 Missile Stockpile At Russian Shaykovka Airfield

  • 8.04.2025, 13:35

Russian air defense failed to react.

On the night of March 30 to 31, 2025, Ukrainian strike drones attacked the Shaykovka military airfield, home to Tu-22M3 strategic bombers. Aircraft from the 52nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment (military unit 33310) regularly launched missiles from this base at Ukrainian cities. Now, one of the regiment’s key logistical points has suffered serious damage.

Missile Stockpile and Preparation Equipment Destroyed

According to satellite intelligence data published by the cyber community "Cyberboroshno", the strike destroyed a stockpile of Kh-22/32 missiles and a technical facility used for fueling and preparing these missiles for launch.

Satellite Images Confirm the Success

Satellite images confirm that stationary fueling stations have disappeared from the airfield—obliterated by a powerful explosion that reduced them to debris.

Additionally, one of the hangars near the aircraft parking area sustained significant damage. It appears to have been used for storing supersonic missiles.

A Plane May Have Been Destroyed

One image shows a destroyed aircraft parking area where an object is no longer identifiable—it could be aircraft wreckage or remains of a ruined hangar.

The Third Strike on Shaykovka in Two and a Half Years

This attack marks the third strike on Shaykovka airfield in the past two and a half years. Long-range drones previously struck in September 2024, August 2023, and October 2022, as part of a strategy to weaken Russia’s missile pressure.

Air Defenses Failed

Local Russian authorities claimed that air defenses had shot down all 24 Ukrainian drones. However, they offered no comments on the explosions that followed at the airfield itself. Satellite images, however, tell a different story.

Experts note that this operation by Ukraine’s armed forces is not just a precision strike but a strategic success, significantly limiting Russia’s ability to launch deadly missiles at Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
