For his ‘significant contribution to the SMO’.

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov's son, 17-year-old Adam Kadyrov, has been honoured with a departmental medal of the Rosgvardiya ‘For Combat Distinction’. He received the corresponding award by order of Viktor Zolotov, Director of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation. This was announced by the Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic Magomed Daudov on his Instagram.

The medal ‘For Combat Distinction’ was established in the Rosgvardiya in 2017. According to the regulations on the award, it is given for personal bravery, selflessness, demonstrated initiative, successful leadership and other merits in the performance of combat tasks.

As Daudov noted, presenting this award to Adam Kadyrov recognised his ‘significant contribution to the special military operation’ as well as to ‘strengthening security and law and order’.

‘From an early age, following the example of the first president of the Chechen Republic, Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, Adam has shown dedication to serving his nation and fatherland. He is a responsible and purposeful young man to whom our national leader Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov always entrusts the most important areas and tasks. Today Adam makes a worthy contribution to the achievement of victory in the SMO, successfully supervises the Russian University of Special Forces named after Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin,’ Daudov wrote.

Adam Kadyrov became famous for beating Nikita Zhuravel, who was arrested for burning the Koran in September 2023 and was at the time in Grozny's pre-trial detention centre. Since then, Kadyrov Jr. has been repeatedly awarded and appointed to key positions in republican structures.

Among other things, he was awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya, became head of his father's security service, and supervisor of the Russian University of Special Forces and the Interior Ministry in Chechnya. In October 2024, his name was entered into the Russian Book of Records as the youngest head of security for a head of a constituent entity of the Federation - he was only 16 years old at the time. In March 2025, Adam was also appointed supervisor of the regional department of the Interior Ministry.
