The new tariffs will come into effect on April 10.
The Chinese Ministry of Finance has announced an increase in tariffs on all goods imported from the US to 84%.
This was reported by the BBC and ВВС и Bloomberg. The new tariffs will come into effect on April 10. They are another response to the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump.
Back in March, Trump imposed 20% tariffs on China. On April 2, on America's “liberation day,” as the US president himself called it, he imposed 34% tariffs on Chinese goods. Beijing responded in kind. Trump then added another 50% to that, increasing the total tariff to 104%. Now Beijing has repeated this step, also adding 50%, bringing the total tariff to 84%.
China also announced it was imposing export controls on 12 more U.S. companies and added six more U.S. companies to its list of “unreliable entities”, which in most cases are prohibited from doing business in China or with Chinese companies.
