And they hacked the phone of the commander of the Russian air defense.
Guerrillas managed to disable two key Kremlin media resources in Crimea: these are websites that are the main mouthpieces of Russian propaganda on the territory of the temporarily occupied peninsula. They also managed to hack the phone of the commander of the Air Defense Force, which is responsible for Russian military facilities in Crimea.
This was revealed by the "ATESH" in its Telegram channel.
It is noted that the cyber guerrillas managed to hack two key sites of Russian propaganda in Crimea:
Regional branch of "Moskovsky Komsomolets" - portal crimea.mk.ru;
Ostensibly an "independent" news portal, but in fact part of the pro-Kremlin network - krym.top24.news.
The portal crimea.mk.ru is known for publishing falsified news and heroizing the Russian army, outlining the advantages of the occupation of Crimea.
The website krym.top24.news instead regularly covers materials with anti-Ukrainian rhetoric, directed against both Ukraine itself and Western states. The media resource is engaged in maintaining the illusion of "peaceful life" in Crimea, glossing over mobilization, repression and military propaganda.
"Under the guise of 'journalism' they serve military purposes," ATESH said.
Partisans hacked the phone of an air defense commander from Sevastopol
On May 9, the ATESH movement also reported another successful cyberattack: the hacking of the personal smartphone of a commander of one of the units of the 12th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the 31st Air Defense Division from Sevastopol. The guerrillas gained access to his personal and service data.
