Trump Reacts To Proposal For Ukraine-Russia Talks

The US President believes that Kiev should accept Putin's proposal to hold direct talks in Istanbul.

Ukraine should agree now to Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposed resumption of direct talks, US President Donald Trump has said.

He said the meeting in Istanbul would allow Moscow and Kiev to determine whether an agreement on a peaceful resolution of the conflict is possible. If not, Europe and the United States will know "what everything hangs on and will be able to act accordingly."

"Russian President Putin does not want to conclude a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine, but wants to meet in Turkey to negotiate a possible end to the carnage. Ukraine must agree to this, IMMEDIATELY," Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.
