Belarus Buys New Fighter Jets From Russia

By the end of May, the Belarusian Army hopes to receive the first pair of Su-30SM-2 aircraft, said Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus Andrei Lukyanovich.

"We will literally receive the first pair of Su-30SM-2 in the near future, even at the end of May. The airplanes are more advanced, have modern avionics. The capabilities are completely different, including the use of aerial weapons," Interfax quoted him as saying.

Lukyanovich noted that Belarus is also receiving new aviation equipment: Mi-35M helicopters, Su-30SM airplanes.
