Ukrainian president to meet with Erdogan.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has arrived at the airport in Ankara, Turkey, to meet with the country's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It was reported by "Suspilne".
It is noted that after the meeting with Erdogan, the first direct talks between Ukraine and Russia since 2022 may take place.
May 10, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin offered Ukraine to resume direct talks "without preconditions" on Thursday, May 15, in Istanbul. However, in his speech, the dictator made no mention of the "coalition of the resolute" initiative for a 30-day ceasefire.
In an evening address on May 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was expecting Putin in person in Turkey on Thursday. He later said he would arrive in Ankara on Thursday and meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. They are ready to fly to Istanbul if the Russian dictator arrives there. Zelensky said he was ready for talks only with Putin and no other format of the meeting was discussed.
