They are destroying Russian planes and ships.
Lieutenant General Kirill Budanov, head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GUR, and a team of specialists from the special service have for the first time publicly presented a series of Magura attack marine drones, which are capable of destroying enemy ships and planes.
The press service of the GUR reports.
The presentation took place on May 14 in Kiev. Specialists for the first time showed Magura marine drones - the latest technological weapon, thanks to which the fighters of the special unit of the GUR Group 13 managed to turn the situation in the Black Sea in favor of Ukraine.
In particular, the Magura series of attack marine drones are represented by:
Magura V5 drones capable of acting as swarm killers of Russian Black Sea Fleet ships;
Multifunctional platform Magura V6P;
Magura V7 missile-carrying drone, which for the first time in history destroyed an enemy combat aircraft;
Magura V7 model equipped with a combat machine gun module.
The intelligence service said that during two years of combat use of various modifications of the Magura drone, military intelligence representatives hit a total of 17 Russian sea and air targets, 15 of which were completely destroyed: in particular, two enemy Mi-8 helicopters, two Su-30 fighters, large ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet "Sergei Kotov", "Ivanovets", "Caesar Kunikov" and other vessels.
The damage inflicted on the enemy is estimated at more than half a billion dollars.
"We can confidently say that the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GSD, Group 13, have pushed the Russian Black Sea Fleet into their basing points. They are constrained in their actions, they do not perform any tasks as assigned," stressed the commander of Group 13 with the call sign "Thirteen".
He added that on December 31, 2024, in his opinion, there was a turning point in the history of the fleet - then two Russian Mi-8 helicopters were destroyed, one was damaged. Also, the scouts destroyed two enemy aircraft.
Magura V7 with two AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles on board, which the GSD special forces used to shoot down two Russian Su-30 fighter jets at a total cost of more than $100 million, attracted the most interest.
"The emergence and development of the missile-powered Magura is the merit of engineers and manufacturers who remain behind the scenes but continue to create and improve Ukraine's weapon of victory at sea," the GSD added.
