DPRK's 5,000-ton Destroyer Capsized During Descent Shown By Satellite

Kim Jong-un watched the entire process of the accident.

Open Source Center published a photo of North Korea's 5,000-ton destroyer, which yesterday rolled onto its side during the launching.

The photo appeared on the OSC's X account. As a reminder, the launching ceremony was held at Cheongjin Shipyard. Due to the fact that the parallel movement of the carts was not ensured, the aft part of the destroyer prematurely came off the carts and ran aground. At the same time, the forward part of the ship did not come off the slipway at all.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un personally observed the incident and gave it a stern assessment. He stated that it was a serious and severe accident that could not be allowed to happen due to pure negligence and irresponsibility. Thus, it is a "criminal act".

Kim Jong-un added that the urgent restoration of the destroyer is a practical and political matter, because it affects the DPRK's image in the world.
