Kadyrov Hinted At His Illness

Chechnya's ruler called death "everyone's way."

Ramzan Kadyrov, amid reports of his illness, reminded that death awaits every human being, writes The Moscow Times. In his Telegram channel, the Chechen ruler published a video in which he walks next to an ancient tower, and a voiceover reads out the text on his behalf:

"I hear more and more often gossip about my illness - they say I'm dying, I don't have much left. First of all, illness and death is the path of every human being. No one living has passed this road. Secondly, it is neither illness nor threat that shortens life. Its length is determined only by the one who gave it breath. If I am destined to live 50, 60 or 70 years, I will live them as prescribed, and no one will take away a day. At the same time, the report emphasizes that those who talk about Kadyrov's illness remain "gossipers without courage, hiding like mice abroad."

Earlier "Novaya Gazeta. Europe" wrote that six years ago he was diagnosed with pancreatic necrosis with no hope for a cure. According to the publication, in the spring of this year, the condition of the head of Chechnya deteriorated sharply. Because of this, he stopped leaving the republic and spends almost all his time in the Aymed clinic in Grozny under the supervision of doctors, including staying there overnight.

Before that, Kadyrov repeatedly denied rumors about his illness. In 2023, he published a video of his walk in Grozny and advised those "who cannot distinguish truth from lies on the Internet to take a walk in the fresh air and put their thoughts in order." In January of this year, Chechen Prime Minister Magomed Daudov showed footage of Kadyrov after he stopped appearing in public for 18 days. The video showed Kadyrov drinking tea and saying he needed immunity to "win, to celebrate victory."

In early May, Kadyrov said he was going to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin to relieve him of his post as head of Chechnya and hoped the request would be granted. However, after meeting with Putin in the Kremlin, Kadyrov wrote that he had not received a positive response.
