7 cities applied for the right to hold the contest.

The international song contest Eurovision 2025 in Basel has already ended. From May 17 to 18, the grand final took place, in which representatives of 26 countries participated, but only one singer won. It was the Austrian JJ with the song "Wasted Love" and next year the right to host the show was given to Austria, which is already beginning preparations for the large-scale event.

It is known that in a few months, namely in July, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the Austrian broadcaster ORF will officially announce the city that will host the 70th Eurovision Song Contest-2026. According to The Guardian, the list of contender cities is already known - Vienna, Graz, Innsbruck, Linz, Wels, Oberwart and St. Pölten.

These cities have shown interest in hosting the show, but each of them will be evaluated according to certain criteria: transport accessibility (airport and public transportation), hotel infrastructure, capacity of the arena (the venue should accommodate at least 10,000 spectators) and financial solvency.

By the way, the expected cost of hosting Eurovision-2026 for the Austrian broadcaster ORF may exceed 30 million euros (that's more than 1 mln hryvnia).

By the way, the Austrian capital has already hosted Eurovision twice in 1967 and 2015. However, now it has quite strong competitors in the struggle for the right to welcome Eurofans again.
