An expert explained why the shooting down of a Russian Su-30 by a Magura maritime drone is unique.

Military expert Andrey Kramarov called the downing of a Russian Su-30 fighter jet over the Black Sea by a missile from a Magura maritime drone a fantastic achievement.

Commenting on Radio NV news from Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate about the defeat of the fighter jet, Kramarov reminded that the R-73 missile that was used by the maritime drone is a Soviet missile adapted by our military-industrial complex, which was installed exclusively on fighter jets.

- Just imagine that the missile was adapted to be installed on a surface drone, and from this drone, using a semi-active infrared guidance system, was able to hit the aircraft. This is not just historic, it is a fantastic achievement. And it is an achievement of both the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and drone operators. It is very pleasant," Kramarov emphasized.

Henceforth, according to him, Russian planes will not be able to fly freely over the waters of the Black Sea in any part of it, knowing that Ukrainian unmanned systems like Magura are floating.

The expert noted that although we can "cover" the entire water area at once, since R-73 missiles have a range of only up to 10 km, but it is important that our marine drones already have an anti-aviation component. So, Ukraine has not only forced Russia to withdraw its naval fleet from the Black Sea, but now the occupants' planes will not fly close to it.

- And we have not just driven the naval fleet away. We have shown that the classic fleet in modern conditions of war in such a closed water area as the Black Sea is actually worthless, - emphasized Kramarov.
