Sweden Puts Pro-Russian Participants Of The May 9 Rally In Their Place

The "Fifth Column" could be stripped of their residency permits.

Swedish Migration Minister Johan Forssell has taken umbrage at the holding of a pro-Russian rally in Stockholm to mark May 9.

This was reported by Expressen.

Swedish media found out that the organizers of the annual rally are linked to the Russian propaganda platform "Immortal Regiment," which traditionally holds events for May 9 not only in Russia but also abroad.

In particular, participants include a former member of a neo-Nazi group, an ex-employee of the Russian Interior Ministry and public supporters of the policies of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Forssell proposed revoking the residency permits of participants in the May 9 celebrations.

"Links to extremist movements can be grounds for a review of the right to reside in Sweden. We are not obliged to grant asylum to those who threaten our public order or security," the minister said.
