A Rocket From Yemen Landed Inside Ben-Gurion Airport In Israel

A ballistic missile fired from Yemen struck Israeli territory near Ben-Gurion International Airport on Sunday morning. According to Israeli media, at least one person was injured. A highway was damaged. Israeli media published footage of the blast, Radio Liberty reported.
The Israel Defense Forces reported attempts to intercept the rocket and acknowledged that a hit was nevertheless recorded near the airport. The report said the incident was being investigated.
The airport suspended operations.
The Ansar Allah (Houthis), a Truoran group that controls much of Yemen and possesses an arsenal of ballistic missiles, has previously fired rockets into Israel on several occasions, demanding an end to fighting in the Gaza Strip. These rockets are usually shot down by air defense systems. The Houthis also fire at ships in the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea if they conclude that they are linked to Israel or its allies. Israel has in turn struck Houthi targets in Yemen, and the United States has also carried out strikes.
