It was he who shot down two Russian fighter jets for the first time in history.

Ukraine has successfully shot down two Russian planes sent to intercept its drones in the Black Sea.

The Magura V7 Surface Drone, which was previously unknown, shot down the enemy planes with the help of US Sidewinder missiles, the Navalnews writes.

These are the first two fighter jets in history to be shot down by a drone, but they are unlikely to be the last, the publication admitted. It revealed some details about the operation.

According to reporters, although it was initially reported that enemy fighters shot down the Magura V5 drones, Naval News confirms that it was actually the larger Magura V7.

"This is the first time the V7 development has been presented to the public," the publication stated.

Initially, Naval News reported that the drones probably used AA-11 Archer missiles. "This configuration, known as Sea Dragon, was the only one publicly known. Now we can reveal the armed Sidewinder type," the journalists clarified the information.

The Magur V7 has a wider body with large fixed launch rails. Its length is about 8 meters, while the V5 is 5.5 meters long. The V7 is essentially a larger version of the Magura V5, the basic model used to ram enemy ships with explosives.

Reporters said the V7 version is more optimal and elaborate, but it is not yet clear whether it is armed exclusively with Sidewinder missiles or can carry other weapons.

Magura V7 has similar lines to the V5, but it has a reshaped nose for better seaworthiness, useful for winter operations. "She has been spotted with several communication antennas and sensors. She doesn't appear to have explosives in her nose due to the lack of impact detonators, but this could be customized," the reporters speculated.
