What should we expect from a potential U.S.-Iran nuclear deal.

The decision by Donald Trump to end the campaign of strikes against the Houthis in Yemen is the first bellwether for what to expect from a potential US-Iran nuclear deal.

The agreement with the Houthis was reached with the help of the same mediator overseeing the US-Iran talks - Oman - and should be seen as part of a broader process.

It was expected that Trump would force Iran to stop supporting its proxies in the region. The opposite turned out to be true: Iran (via Oman) convinced Washington to stop military pressure.

Israel is completely out of the equation. The Husis didn't even have to promise that they would stop strikes on our territory. On the contrary - they promised to continue, but that didn't stop Trump: just so long as no American ships were hit.

By that logic, how could Trump not allow the Iranians to get nuclear weapons - provided they were aimed at Tel Aviv, not Washington.
