Lukashenko Postpones Parade Due To Health Problems?

The dictator is not in good shape.
Tuesday, May 6, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported that the military parade on May 9 in Minsk would begin in the evening - at 20.30. But earlier the state media called a different time - the start of the event was planned two hours earlier. "Zerkalo" wonders what is the reason for the postponement of the parade.
In the opinion of political analyst Alexander Klaskovsky, another reason for the postponement of the event in Minsk may be Lukashenko's health. Analyst "Pozirka" recalls that in 2023 at the parade in Moscow, the Belarusian politician could not walk the short distance from Red Square to the tomb of the unknown soldier. And he was forced to be driven by an electric car. On the same day in Minsk, Lukashenko did not make his traditional speech at the laying of wreaths at the Victory Monument. His physical condition has not improved in two years, Klaskovski believes.
- Lukashenko is no longer in the best shape, and he needs more time to recover from the flight - an hour or two to catch his breath and come to his senses," said the analyst. - By the way, I would pay attention to the fact that in recent days, you can hardly see his public activity at all. Apparently, he is also resting somewhere and gaining strength for May 9, because in recent years it has become a test for him. And he can't refuse because he's afraid of offending "big brother."
Alexander Klaskovsky points out that Lukashenko does have reasons to worry about causing Putin's anger. The interlocutor cites the example of the dispute between politicians about the meaning of the St. George ribbon, which took place on April 29 in Volgograd.
- The Kremlin began to press him on this issue. And he even had to justify himself publicly, saying that no one in Belarus banned it. Although until 2020, he had taken a rather hard line in this regard. And officials insistently did not recommend its use at public events almost in an open text. But now Lukashenko is humoring and ingratiating himself to Moscow in this matter. This and the postponement of the parade to the evening in order to stay longer in the Russian capital are symptoms of how critically his dependence on the Kremlin has increased.
