Verkhovna Rada Of Ukraine Ratifies Mineral Agreement With The U.S.

A paragraph on the territorial integrity of Ukraine was added to the preamble of the text.

Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, May 8, voted to ratify a mineral agreement between the United States and Ukraine, New Voice writes.

Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that all factions and groups voted in favor of the draft, totaling 338 deputies.

Deputy Iryna Herashchenko added that a clause on Ukraine's territorial integrity and a clause stating that at the time of ratification parliamentarians "were not familiarized with other documents", in particular the limited partnership agreement, were added to the preamble of the text. All documents to be adopted later should be in line with the ratified agreement, she said.

On May 2, the Ukrainian government registered a bill on ratification of the fossil agreement. On May 6, the Rada's foreign policy committee approved the ratification of the agreement.
