Macron After Talking To Trump: Ready To Act Decisively If Russian Federation Doesn't Stop Firing

The French president threatened Russia with retaliation if it rejects the ceasefire.

French President Emmanuel Macron spoke several times with U.S. President Donald Trump on the evening of May 8.

This was reported by Censor.NET, citing Macron's message to X.

The French head welcomed Trump's clear call for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire, as did British and Nordic partners. And he emphasized that the call was also backed by British and Nordic partners on Friday morning.

"Ukraine already agreed to this ceasefire almost two months ago. Now I expect Russia to do the same. If it fails, we will be ready to react decisively, with all Europeans and in close consultation with the United States," Macron said.

Reminder, Trump said after a conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that he demands a ceasefire in Ukraine "ideally for 30 days."
